SensoryCo prides itself on crafting unique scent solutions and creating sensory effects to magnify experiences. As SensoryCo sleuths, we love to scout out new happenings and get inspired by hidden gems that have curated detailed themed environment that tell a story. Flowers Saratoga is a one in a million find…and this is an appreciation post.
Flowers is located on Main Street tucked amidst quaint boutique shops and the charming atmosphere that is Saratoga Village. It is next door to famed Silicon Valley restaurant, Hero’s Ranch Kitchen, and is family owned and operated.
Our venture began upon approach. Eager diners were already gathered at the sidewalk, flower adorned, welcome desk as the adjacent outdoor patio that serves as entry to Hero’s Ranch Kitchen was filling up with smiling guests. Flowers Saratoga signage sets the tone with a gorgeous presentation that denotes the venue’s elevated elegance.
The décor has a feminine undertone with pink and green balsam plush furnishings and gold interior accents. Modern, sophisticated, and intimate without taking away from the shared experience and a perfect spot for special occasions. The Flowers motif extends throughout the environment in a seemingly distinct homage to the beauty of blossoms…arguably one of nature’s most stunning sensory effects.
We were warmly greeted and seating at our table set before the impressive bar area. We were left with a lovely pink menu booklet outlined with petals. We were introduced to the daily dish specials as well as some signature craft cocktails. We ordered The Hummingbird offered with a delicious mix of Tito’s ™, bergamot, basil, citrus, chandon syrup and soda, and we were not disappointed. The visual presentation is stunning with the infusion of different floral ingredients including lavender and a flavored cotton candy type of garnish. And as I glanced at the gracious bar area, the bevy of high-end beverages was a feast for the eyes. At one point, a cocktail was furnished with some type of ethereal smoke haze and topped with a cloche in what might be described as terrarium inspired. The table “show” upon delivery was impeccable.
Speaking of impeccable, Flowers service and staff is incomparable. We were treated like VIP’s with well-trained and knowledgeable staff at the ready to meet our needs. At one point, we were complimented on our “energy” and we agreed that Flowers mirrored our enthusiasm with their fresh and fun vibe.
Of Sights, Scents, and Sensory Effects
The menu serves cultured, tapas style, Italian and Greek fare with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. The different combinations of food and flavors was excited to try with the floral sensory effects appealing on all levels of sight, taste, and smell (from the food not the herb and flower accompaniments) while giving all the feels. We felt we had a perfectly nurtured tasting with some type of floral representation on every plate:
Prawn Cigar
( a shared starter)
brick dough | wasabi aioli | mango gel | tobiko | shiso leaf
Fig Salad
black mission figs | boursin cheese | balsamic pearls | dried cranberries arugula | truffle lemon aioli
Apple & Walnut Risotto
granny smith apple | crushed walnut | shaved black truffle | humboldt fog blue cheese | crispy leeks
We were so satiated by Flowers savory cuisine that we did not indulge in the amazing dessert selections. But we will definitely be back. Flowers Saratoga is a culinary gem that delights with blossoming natural sensory effects. The menu is a harmonious blend of contemporary and classic dishes to explore while deep diving into the thematic interpretation of, literally, flowers. All the senses are engaged without taking away from the flavors and mood. As stated before, we appreciate the detailed level of thematic integration that is carried throughout this, “definitely worth it”, experience.
